Jennifer Reischel

Jennifer Reischel has worked as the Business Development and Communications Manager for Entertainment Media Group which includes the St. James Theatre in Belgravia, London (UK), Price Studios, Canis Media Group and Showbiz TV channel. In addition to her background as an award-nominated author, theatre critic and feature writer, Jennifer launched The Stage Castings in 2013 for The Stage Media Company, heading up the business development, branding and PR strategy for this unique video audition website: www.thestage.co.uk/castings  

 

Originally of German heritage, Jennifer was raised and schooled in various countries, including the Far East. Completing the three-year musical theatre BA degree at Mountview Academy in 2002, she first pursued a career as an actor ranging from musical theatre appearances and touring play work, to filming a television pilot. She has also performed her one-woman cabaret show at Pizza on the Park, Lauderdale House, Vauxhall Tavern and in Singapore. Further experience includes guest presenting on Podcast MusicalTalk and solo vocal recordings for UK Jazz FM Radio. Jennifer has also performed at the Royal Albert Hall with artists such as Brian May, Kerry Ellis, Josh Groban, Idina Menzel, Roger Moore, Vanessa Redgrave and Joanna Lumley.

 

Migrating into writing, Jennifer then penned “So you want to tread the boards” (published in 2007) and became a regular feature article contributor and theatre critic for The Stage. She is also a main reviewer of the annual drama school showcases, has written for the Dear John column, as well as originating and editing The Stage Graduates Club e-newsletter. Further writing includes contributions to "The Actors Yearbook", theatre reviews and feature articles for Fringe Review and short story fiction for Artshub. Jennifer also created the fictional weekly first-person blog Ava Harper – The London Dating Adventures of an Actress as part of a marketing campaign for The Stage dating website Lovearts.com including running social media activity for the character
(www.avaharper.wordpress.com).

Additionally, Jennifer has cast plays for Writers Avenue (performed at the Soho Theatre) and hosted workshops aimed at professional and aspiring actors as part of The Stage Events at the Prince of Wales Theatre (London), at the Edinburgh Festival, and at the Sheffield International Drama Festival. Jennifer acted as a quarter, semi and final round judge for the Leicester Square Theatre New Comedian Competition of the Year 2013 and also led "An introduction to theatre criticism" Q&A workshop at Theatrecraft 2014".
